Green Man Lane is the phased regeneration of a failing housing estate in West Ealing. After substantial public consultation and interview events, The London Borough of Ealing selected Conran & Partners as architects and masterplanners, with Rydon and the A2Dominion Group as preferred developer. We were praised for our ‘distinctive and original design vision’ by Ealing Council.
We are proposing a truly sustainable approach, incorporating 750+ new homes with a diverse mix of tenure and types, revenue and employment and community facilities including hotel, low cost gym, market square with cafés and retail, community spaces and a nursery.
This project has involved a huge amount of community engagement and consultation with existing residents. Green Man Lane is a typical London estate with an extremely diverse group of residents. Consultation with these end-users is allowing us to identify the full range of housing needs from the outset of the project and to incorporate them into our designs.
An outline planning application was submitted in early 2010.
