Our first project for City Lofts was the residential conversion of a range of elegant nineteenth century buildings facing onto the Crescent Gardens in Harrogate. The listed buildings were semi-derelict, containing a range of low-grade retail, office and storage uses.
The main street elevation was carefully restored, the only outward sign of the new use being a series of barely visible terraces cut into the roof behind the parapet. To the rear, access to the 32 apartments is via a mews and three new stair-cores. Internally the apartments are simply treated, with wood strip floors and contemporary kitchens and bathrooms.
There were queues overnight for the first release of apartments and all units were sold off plan.
