PRESS RELEASE: C&P win Brick Awards housing category
Conran & Partners Quayside Lofts has been awarded the 'Best Private Housing Development' award at Building Magazine's Brick Awards. At an awards ceremony on Monday, architect Nick Edler picked up the trophy on behalf of the project team.
Built into the steep hillside and set back from the banks of the Tyne in Newcastle, Quayside Lofts, a scheme for City Loft Developments, comprises three buildings, including 66 apartments and 400 sqm of retail and commercial space. The development has views to Gateshead’s Sage and the Baltic Flour Mill and has revitalised a previously desolate and run-down area of the city, re-establishing connections to the city centre.
Quayside Lofts was praised by the judges for its "strong, clear statement" and its ability to "sit easily with its neighbours, which include two grade I listed Victorian warehouses".
