PRESS RELEASE: Conran & Partners designed Quayside Lofts has won a commendation at this year's prestigious Civic Trust awards.

Commendations are given to projects that are 'of benefit culturally, socially or economically whilst making a valuable contribution to the quality and appearance of the environment'. This was one of only a handful of housing projects to be recognised.

The judges wrote:

'This development has made a major contribution to the regeneration of a neglected area of the city. Comprising three buildings, the scheme mixes residential, retail and commercial space. The materials are pleasing, with dark red brick, and granite reflecting the industrial heritage of the city. It is a building which sits in context with its surroundings, and both the timber shutters and exposed concrete are appropriate. Attractive brick elevations form the street frontage to this successful scheme'.
