The County Court made an important early contribution to the character of Milton Keynes as a city. The building provides 1,600 m² of space with public areas on the first floor including a bright public foyer directly above the entrance and a top lit courtroom fitted out in oak, located in the centre of the plan. The ground floor houses the administrative offices and ancillary facilities. It neighbours the Institute of Chartered Accountants Headquarters on the steeply sloping Silbury Boulevard. While they share certain characteristics it is the differences between them that make them a complementary pair.
