College Hall

Conran & Partners have recently submitted a detailed planning application for the refurbishment of College Hall in Leicester, which will preserve the Grade II listed university residences, designed by Sir Leslie Martin in the 1950’s, and convert them into high-quality apartments.

The scheme proposes to create 67 apartments and a children’s nursery in the College Hall buildings.  Three new buildings, designed to complement the brick-built College Hall, are located on adjacent land and provide 21 three-storey townhouses and three further apartments.

College Hall is the latest Conran & Partners project to involve the sensitive and sympathetic restoration of landmark buildings. Previous projects include Butlers Wharf on the River Thames, Michelin House in Fulham, and Bluebird Garage on the Kings Road. Most recently we were involved in the restoration of the Wells Coates modernist masterpiece, Embassy Court in Brighton.
