Vantage Quay

The Vantage Quay site is part of the Manchester Waterfront masterplan commissioned by Town Centre Securities to regenerate the Piccadilly Basin area of Manchester. Situated within a quarter of a mile of Piccadilly Station on the Rochdale canal, the scheme comprises 117 studio, one and two bedroom apartments, basement car parking and a residents’ garden. The building is a brick volume wrapped on its two waterfront elevations by a lightweight timber screen. The cumaru screen from first to fifth floors with a random pattern of horizontal and vertical panels, provides privacy and acts as a balustrade to the full height opening glazing behind. The two zinc-clad upper levels are cut back to provide terraces to the apartments with horizontal screens providing privacy to the fifth floor terraces.
