Das Triest in Vienna, transformed the old Stadt Triest Hotel into a unique, discreet, luxurious 5 star hotel. The facades were articulated and the interiors reworked into comfortable contemporary spaces.
The hotel entrance is low-key and slightly mysterious, marked with a canopy and two small square windows, allowing only a glimpse of what lies within. By contrast the bar entrance is fully glazed allowing a view deep into the interior.
Inside, a vestibule with a green and white marble floor leads to the reception area where a large window frames views to the courtyard and restaurant beyond.
In the intimate bar, dark wood contrasts with the silver ceiling, giving a sense of timelessness. A small window allows a peek through to the courtyard.
The restaurant, characterised by its length, with a mosaic-faced buffet along the back wall, is reached via a glazed passage with views to the courtyard.
