The original Floridita bar is located in Havana, Cuba, and is steeped in history as a former haunt of Ernest Hemingway. We were appointed in 2004 to develop the Floridita restaurant and bar in London, featuring live Cuban music. The design refers to the essential elements of the original Havana bar including its long, dark-stained timber bar, black & white chequered marble floor and white leather banquettes and adds a level of sophistication and glamour with, for example, curtains of Swarovski crystal. The project also includes La Casa del Habano, a cigar shop featuring a walk-in humidor. The concept is now being developed for other cities including Moscow, Madrid and Dublin.
