Ege Designed in London and manufactured in Denmark, the objective of the premium-quality Visual Texture carpet collection is to showcase the unique technology and exceptional service.

The desire was that flooring should be more prominent in a discerning interior design scheme by not just adding colour and pattern, but as visual texture adding depth and interest to an environment.

Over 30 ‘design families’ are offered, each with their own elements such as runners and highlight features, and are customised to fit the individual’s space requirements. This allows flooring to enhance the design of environments and add decorative character to interior schemes. It gives a visual ‘change of pace’ between spaces and navigational visual waypoints in corridors. Room and runner borders can be accommodated, by allowing a pattern to decrease at the borders, improving appearance, wear and ease of cleaning.

The specially formulated dyes have allowed us the freedom to design a broad & eclectic range with a multitude of inspirations, ranging from nature to 20th century art. The designs can be scaled and customised to suit a client’s specific need based on the size, shape and style of their application. We have carefully considered all areas of usage, from dining and reception through to corridors and bedrooms to ensure all aspects of the specifier’s requirements are met.

The specially developed colour palettes give a broad range of designs with a multitude of inspirations including: plant and animal patterns from nature, geological and scientific phenomena and 20th century art.

The New Zealand raw wool is processed and spun in Denmark, before being ‘woven’ into plain white carpeting 4m wide. It is then decorated to order using unique digital-dyeing technology, which is able to produce a deep pattern 4m wide at the rate of 20 meters per minute. The carpeting is then laminated to a variety of backings, given special qualities such as anti static, low rolling resistance, etc., depending on usage requirements, e.g.: hospitals, hotels, offices, etc. Order-to-delivery can be as little as ten days.

And the Ege team have been a joy to work with and deserve a huge amount of credit for all the hard work and commitment they have given the project.
