The first images of Conran & Partners’ plans to redevelop Walthamstow Stadium have been released by the developer. Housing group L&Q wants to build 300 new homes at the housing-led scheme which will transform the iconic east London dog racing track.

Conran was drafted in to take over from TP Bennett during the summer after L&Q claimed its previous development partner, Yoo Capital, had failed to meet a March 2010 deadline for obtaining planning permission with the TP Bennett scheme. The latest plans also include a series of public spaces, allotments and gardens. The images will be part of three consultation events taking place with local residents this week.

“Our aim is to create a vibrant, high-quality and desirable place to live that is also sensitive to the site’s unique character,” said L&Q regional director, Steve Yianni.
