Nigel studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh and at Oxford Polytechnic School of Architecture. He is experienced in leading projects from design conception through to occupation.
Before joining Conran & Partners, Nigel was a Director of RMJM’s London Studio where he was responsible for regeneration and masterplanning work both in Europe and the UK. This built on his experience gained while working with Eric Parry Architects for nine years, where he delivered varied projects across the commercial, hospitality, cultural and education sectors for many of London’s most prominent developers. These include the New London Stock Exchange at 10 Paternoster Square, 60 Threadneedle Street (site of the old London Stock Exchange), the refurbishment of the Royal Lancaster Hotel in Bayswater and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, Knightsbridge.
He has had international experience having worked in Kuala Lumpur as a key member of a multidisciplinary design practice for 5 years, requiring extensive client liaison in China and throughout Malaysia. While there, his main project was the master plan of a sustainable resort and residential development on a 7000 hectare site at Janda Baik in the highlands surrounding Kuala Lumpur which involved the integration of UNESCO re-forestation initiatives.
