Britannia Visitor Centre

In 1997 we were asked to provide a new permanent berth for the Royal Yacht Britannia, with the vessel moored alongside Ocean Terminal. The scheme was radically re-worked to provide a permanent Visitor Centre on the second floor of the new building, with panoramic glazing and bridge links to the upper levels of Britannia.

To provide a temporary home for the Visitor Centre, a building on the adjoining quayside was erected. The single-storey 12,000sq ft pavilion was designed and built within 20 weeks.
