Roppongi Hills

Mori Building CompanyTokyo, 2003

Roppongi Hills is a new urban quarter in the heart of Tokyo, created by the Mori Building Company, the city’s largest private developer. The bold regeneration plan for the area was instigated in 1986 by Minoru Mori, and after a 36-month fast-track construction period, Roppongi Hills opened in April 2003.

Conran + Partners has been involved in the project’s architecture, interior design, landscape and graphic design. It is a clear demonstration of our dedication to holistic design. Providing some 800,000 sq m of office, residential and retail space, as well as a hotel, cinema and new broadcasting headquarters for TV Asahi.

“Conran & Partners sensitivity toward colours and materials, and the way their designs capture the essence of our project concept, has exceeded my expectations. They have made a significant contribution to the success of Roppongi Hills.” Minoru Mori President & CEO, Mori Building Company
